Extreme weather afflicts China

High temperatures continue to plague Northern China, while southern and central China are again hit by heavy rains.
In northern China temperatures in Xi'an, the capital of Shaanxi Province, have climbed to 39 degrees Celsius, creating its record high for the summer.
Cities in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, have seen temperatures soared past 40 degrees Celsius for 3 straight days. The heat has also hit Heilongjiang Province.
Meanwhile southern China's Jiangxi Zhuang Authonomous Region and Guizhou Province, were hit by a sudden rainstorm, causing landslides and flooding.
