In southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, rain-triggered natural disasters have killed at least 15 persons since last week, and one remains missing. Floods and mudslides have affected nearly 3 million people in the region since rainstorms began last Wednesday. And local governments are preparing for more rain.

More rain lashed Guangxi on Tuesday.

More than 38,000 people have been resettled.

Local governments are working to provide food, clothes and housing and prevent epidemics.

Two task forces have been dispatched to the worst-hit areas to coordinate flood control.

In Guangdong, damaged highways and the railway between Meizhou and Shantou are now nearly back to normal. Electricity has also been restored in most of the regions in the province.

Guizhou Province is striving to bring life back to normal. More than 30 people were killed and another four are still missing in rainstorms and landslides. The provincial government has launched an emergency response mechanism to ensure efficient relief operations.

Vice-Premier Hui Liangyu has called for concerted efforts to provide relief to those affected by torrential rains in Southern China. Last week's death toll was 76.
