Go to Tibet...
With about 3 days notice we frantically prepared to go on the Chinese trip of a lifetime. They are finishing the Qinghai Tibet railway to be opened July first, 2006. We are to cover the story and I am so grateful for the opportunity. All my friends keep telling me they are jealous and I was anxious to find out why...( Tracey Grebinsky )
Tracey Grebinsky’s diary in Tibet
We took a plane from Beijing to Xining then on to Golmud to begin our journey.
The next morning we woke up ready to see some of Tibet.
Today we would drive a little further into Tibet with hopes that this gradual progression would help us adjust to the altitude.
We woke up at 5 am for our long journey. Our four by four trucks waited outside anxiously for the drive ahead.
Today we woke up late all tired.
Tibet seems to be a forgotten world. It´s like time has stood still here until now.
Our last day in Lhasa of course was to be spent at the Patella Palace.
