Liao Xiaoyi said, "We are making efforts to speed up reconstruction. We should pay more attention to environment and sustainability. This reconstruction after the earthquake provides us with an opportunity of sustainability. We shouldn't lose this chance."

Liao Xiaoyi's goal is to build sustainable villages in rural China. Daping is a place where she hopes she can make this happen. And for local farmers, it is an evolution they themselves are involved to remould their way of life to one that is greener and more sustainable.
