Chinese president Hu: Let´s work together

President Hu Jintao has called on the international community to join hands to ride out the current global financial crisis. The appeal came in the president's speech at the London G20 summit on Thursday. Hu Jintao says the most pressing task is to restore global economic growth and prevent a serious recession.

The Chinese president says confidence is urgently needed.

Hu Jintao says the world has what it takes to tackle the financial crisis and the world economy is on a solid material and technological footing.

He called on the international community to intensify cooperation, as no country is immune from the crisis.

He also pushed for reforming the international financial system.
