China eyes progress from upgraded dialogue

The Foreign Ministry says the upgrading of the dialogue mechanism is an improvement of understanding of the importance of two way relations. Spokesman Qin Gang said China is willing to work with the United States for substantial progress out of the Strategic and Economic Dialogue.

The Foreign Ministry says the upgrading of the  dialogue mechanism is an improvement of understanding  of the importance of two way relations.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Qin Gang said, "The decision to upgrade the dialogue to cabinet level means a new historic start for China-US relations, and reflects the growing importance of bilateral relations. Whether it's Strategic Economic Dialogue or Strategic and Economic Dialogue, it will be an important platform for the two sides to push forward exchanges and cooperation."
