Released captain: Hot pursuit to deal with pirates

The captain says using the alternative route via South Africa is more time consuming and would cost more. He advocates hot pursuit, saying that navies are the only ones who can stop piracy at the moment.
The Stolt Valor was released after long negotiations with the Japanese owners and after a ransom was paid.
More than 80 ships have been hijacked off the coast of Somalia this year, several of them with Indian crews.
Somalia, which has had no functioning government for 17 years, is the world's top piracy hotspot.
