The ancient ship, Nanhai One, has arrived at its new home: the Crystal Palace of the Guangdong Maritime Silk Road Museum.

The ancient ship, Nanhai One, has arrived at its new home: the Crystal Palace of the Guangdong Maritime Silk Road Museum.

The 800-year-old merchant boat, and its precious cargo, were lifted from the bottom of the sea last weekend.

A ceremony was held before Nanhai One was pulled inside the museum. Cushioned by sixteen air bags, the steel carrier box holding the ship was slowly moved into the Crystal Palace, a purpose built tank.

After the Nanhai One is installed, engineers will fill the tank with water. Visitors can watch the whole process outside.
