SCO conducts final stage of joint anti-terror drill

A joint anti-terrorism drill dubbed "Peace Mission 2007" will take place at a Chelyabinsk military base in Russia's Ural Mountains region. Preparation work for Friday's drill has been carried out smoothly and it will be observed by heads of state from the six SCO nations.

Thursday was the last day in which to prepare for the final drill. Defense Ministers from the six member nations watched the joint maneuvers. Chinese and Russian chief directors presented the preparation report.

Ci Guowei, Chinese officer of the mission, said, "The drill helps to enhance cooperation between SCO members in order to promote friendship and mutual understanding."
