Flag-raising ceremony held in HKSAR to mark 10th anniversary

Day-long celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland, have begun in the Special Administrative Region.
The flag-raising ceremony was held at eight o'clock Sunday morning at the Golden Bauhinia Square outside Hong Kong's Convention and Exhibition Center. Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald Tsang, senior government officials and 800 guests from all walks of life watched, as the Chinese National Flag and the Hong Kong SAR Regional Flag were raised. A police band performed at the ceremony.
The raising of the flag only occurs on very rare and special occasions. Today's flag raising ceremony is an extremely important and momentous event for China and the people of Hong Kong.
