One of the Chinese women forced to work for Japanese troops during World War II has died at age 79. Lei Guiying passed away Wednesday from a brain hemorrhage.

She is one of the few remaining known victims of sexual slavery during Japan's brutal invasion and occupation of China. Less than 50 former Chinese sex slaves are still alive. Few have gone public with their experiences.

Lei testified she was 13 when she was abducted and raped by Japanese soldiers. She escaped after two years, but was unable to have children and remained silent about her experience for more than six decades.
