France takes hard line against Iran

France has taken a hard line against Iran, saying the international community should accept no less than the suspension of all sensitive nuclear activity.

Philippe Douste-Plazy, French FM, said, "President Ahmadinejad rejected yesterday any suspension of sensitive nuclear activity. However, on the December 23rd, the UN Resolution 17-37 explained what Iran must do in order to avoid sanctions. It must suspend any activity involving the enriching of uranium and this must be verified by the International Atomic Energy Agency. This includes research and development, and this also includes re-treating the waste."
