China, Liberia issue joint communique to further cooperation

China and Liberia have issued a joint communique that reaffirms full support for each other. They've also pledged unswerving efforts to boost bilateral cooperation.

The joint communique sees China and Liberia agree to increase exchange at various levels, and enhance mutual trust, to speed up the development of ties and cooperation between the two countries.

Liberia has reiterated firm commitment to the One-China policy and support for China's concept of "One country, Two systems". It's also pledged support for the Chinese government's efforts to achieve national unification.

China says it will continue to support Liberia's efforts to consolidate peace and stability, and promote reconstruction and development.

The document also says China will continue encouraging Chinese businesses to invest in Liberia.

China and Liberia also agree to broaden exchanges in culture, education, health and agriculture. They will also step up cooperation in personnel training, and international affairs. Both will promote South-South cooperation and North-South dialogue, and work for lasting peace and common prosperity for all peoples.

The two countries have also agreed to work together to advance a new type of strategic partnership between China and Africa. This will be based on political equality and trust, economic cooperation and cultural exchange.
