Chinese, Cameroonian president meet on bilateral ties

In Cameroon, where Chinese President Hu Jintao has met his counterpart Paul Biya. Their talks focused on building closer bilateral ties.

Cameroon is the first stop of Hu Jintao's 8-nation Africa tour to build on agreements made at last year's China-Africa summit. Meng Lingqi has more.

With a warm welcome from the people and the government President Hu Jintao started his African tour in Cameroon.

It is Hu Jintao's third official visit to the African continent since becoming Chinese president in 2003. The trip is also his first overseas visit this year.

After the official ceremony, President Hu Jintao started his talks with President Biya and exchanged views on developing China-Cameroon ties.

The two presidents will attend a get-together with performances by Chinese and Cameroonians. President Hu Jintao is also scheduled to visit China-aid projects while he is in Yaounde.

The Chinese President will also visit Liberia, Sudan, Zambia, Namibia, South Africa, Mozambique and Seychelles.
