In Iran, a government spokesman has confirmed that the country is determined to continue with its nuclear fuel programme.

Gholam Hossein Elham said his country needs 3,000 centrifuges to move towards the production of nuclear fuel. He said Iran will generate 10,000 megawatts of nuclear power and it also needs ten nuclear production plants. Elham said the nuclear programme is strictly for civilian use.

He also referred to the raid by US-led forces on an Iranian office in Irbil. He said Iran reserved the right to pursue the matter through international institutions.
