The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has denied any plans for a possible second nuclear test in the country. The DPRK's ambassador to the United Nations said on Tuesday that he was "not aware" of any planned test.

Ambassador Pak Gil Yon, told reporters in New York that he did not know of any plans by his country to conduct nuclear tests in the near future. Concerns about the DPRK heightened abruptly last week in Asia. That's after ABC News reported that Pyongyang might be preparing for another test. South Korean officials had also noted that activity was spotted near a suspected nuclear test site in the DPRK.

But that there was no evidence to suggest Pyongyang was about to conduct another nuclear test. The DPRK conducted its first nuclear test last October.
