Leading Japanese media outlets, including the Asahi Shimbun, have given extensive coverage of the summit and produced detailed interpretations. A Yomiuri Shimbun editorial says the success of the summit is conducive to curbing the further downslide of the world economy. Some Japanese economists say as a major emerging economy, China will play a constructive role in the recovery of the world economy.
In Australia, news reports say the government is very likely to issue new economic stimulus policies in coming months. And next week, the Australian Federal Reserve Bank is likely to announce further interest rates cut. Indonesian media points out the world economy will lose its momentum to rebuild if developed countries resort to trade protectionism.
Many Indonesian economists are urging the government to reduce the reliance of their economy on US dollar.
