President Hu Jintao is returning from London after attending the G-20 summit on the global financial crisis. Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi says president Hu Jintao made concrete proposals on tackling the global financial crisis at the G20 London summit. He notes that these proposals played an important and constructive role in the positive results of the summit.

Yang Jiechi says president Hu Jintao's attendance at the G-20 summit yielded achievements in 5 main areas.

-- Strengthen macroeconomic policy coordination with the international community.
-- Push forward reform of the international financial system.
-- Safeguard stability of the multilateral trade mechanism.

-- China's proposals on reforming int'l financial system.
-- International financial institutions should offer more aid to developing countries.
-- Financial Stability Forum should play a bigger role.
-- The IMF should strengthen and improve its supervision over the macroeconomic policies.
-- The IMF should focus more on currency issuing policies.
-- Governance structure of the IMF and the World Bank to be improved, giving more say to developing countries.
