Chinese president Hu meets with state leaders

Hu Jintao told his Brazilian counterpart Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva that China will work with Brazil to promote the strategic partnership.

Hu proposed more efforts to push forward trade and economic cooperation, which is of vital importance to fight the global downturn. Work should continue on major joint projects on natural gas pipelines, thermal power station and regional aircraft, and establishing strategic cooperation in the energy sector.

Lula said he's looking forward to visiting China, as it will be a good opportunity for furthering relations, especially in trade.
