The five-day forum, which brings together Buddhist practitioners all over the world. It will be dedicated to the theme of "A Harmonious World, a Synergy of Conditions." Our reporter Han Bin spoke with some of the participants, asking them how they view harmony and the meaning of Buddhism in modern world.

Preparations for the opening ceremony of the World Buddhism Forum are in full swing. Exhibitions on Buddhism and the culture are also on display, along with a number of seminars. This is the first time the forum has been co-sponsored by Buddhist Associations in the mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

The Chairman of the Hong Kong Buddhist Association Kok KWONG, believes that the gathering will provide a forum to share with the depth of Chinese Buddhism with the world while creating conditions for harmony.

Ven.Kok Kwong, Chairman of HK Buddhist Association, said, " Buddhism teaches people to get rid themselves of greed, hatred and foolishnesses and maintain a harmony in mind. So, peace and harmony are the basic teachings of Buddhism and our call for the world."
