Palestinian president meets Turkish counterpart

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met with Turkey's top leaders on Saturday. Abbas said he agreed that reforms were necessary for the Palestine Liberation Organization the cornerstone of the Palestinian National Authority.

But he said trying to eliminate the organization or attempting to establish another structure in its place would be a mistake. He also noted that numerous groups in Palestinian territories were not currently represented within the PLO, adding that rapid action should be taken to include them.

Abbas also called on the international community to speed up the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.
