China´s human bird flu cases under control

China's Health Ministry says the human cases of bird flu discovered in seven provinces and municpalities have been brought under control.

The government has taken various measures to prevent the bird flu from spreading nationwide. The level two public health emergency alert has been lifted and prevention and public supervision work has returned to normal.

8 people in China have been diagnosed with the H5N1 strain of avian influenza since January this year. Five died and two have recovered including the first confirmed infant, a 3-year-old girl.
