Henan province has gone without rain for over one-hundred days. Nearly 2.8 million hectares of wheat has been affected by the drought. More than 33 thousand hectares has been lost. The province has been channeling over 300 million cubic meters of water from the Yellow River to irrigate farmland, the largest diversion in the past ten years.
