Beijing railway officials expect crowds to surge from January the 20th.

However, there is a different story taking place at Beijing's South Railway Station, where travellers heading to Tianjin are enjoying their trips without a hitch.

Railway officials say the annual travel peak season has so far seen a surge in the number of passengers boarding the Beijing-Tianjin high-speed trains.

There have been no people queuing for tickets.
