GA President condemns Israeli airstrikes

The president of the UN General Assembly, Miguel D'Escoto, has strongly criticized the Israeli air strikes, saying that the Israeli move represents severe violations of international humanitarian law.

He said on Sunday Israel's behavior is the commission of wanton aggression by a very powerful state against a territory that it illegally occupies.

He urged UN member states, as well as every relevant organ of the UN, to develop new approaches to providing real protection for the Palestinian people.
