The highly coordinated terrorist attacks in Mumbai have left 125 people dead at ten sites across the city.

With vivid eye-witness accounts of their ordeal, several surviving British tourists explained how they escaped the siege.

Alistair Francis, said, "We were in our room didn't realize they were hand grenades."

These two British students were in the Leopold Cafe just next to the Taj Hotel when gunmen burst in on Wednesday night.

For 90 minutes they hid with sixty other people as grenades went off around them between bursts of gunfire.

It remained unclear how many people had been taken hostage, how many were hiding inside the hotels and how many dead still lay uncounted.
