The Yuanwang class ships are maritime aerospace survey vessels equipped with transoceanic aerospace observation and control technology. Five vessels of the fleet will play a key role in monitoring and controlling the Shenzhou 7 mission.

Yuanwang means "long view." This is exactly what the surveying and monitoring ships do for the Shenzhou 7. The fleet carries transoceanic aerospace observation and control technology.

The radar tracking system allows spacecraft detection and continuous tracking. The remote surveying system receives data and information from the craft, and then transmits to the launch center. And in the case of an emergency landing at sea, the Yuanwang ships are ready for the search and rescue mission.
