Beijing Paralympics end with equal splendor

The Beijing Paralympics made history with more than 500 Paralympic and world records broken. China topped the medals table with 89 golds and 211 total medals -- double second-placed Britain on both counts. But the Games mean more than just medals.

BOCOG President Liu Qi said, " Through the Paralymic Games, the barrier-free facilities in the city have been greatly improved, and an accessible bridge has been formed between the hearts of disabled and non-disabled people."

The real significance of the games, especially for those disabled who can not attend, could be far reaching.
