Fengshen is now moving across the South China sea and the China Central Meteorological Station says it's forecast to move northward, with winds of up to 108 kilometers per hour. The storm is expected to make landfall in the coastal area between Shanwei in Guangdong and Zhanpu in Fujian.

Guangdong's flood control headquarters has ordered ships to return to port and marine fish farms in low-lying coastal areas have been evacuated.

Fengshen ripped through the Philippine archipelago last Friday, killing at least 229 people and leaving around 700 missing.
