San Francisco to embrace Olympic flame

The torch relay in San Francisco is set to start at one PM local time on Wednesday. The one and half hours tour is the sixth leg of the sacred flame's journey outside China.

80 torch bearers from across North America will carry the Beijing Olympic torch through the streets of San Francisco in a 6-mile route along the city's waterfront. The torch will start its journey at the AT&T park, pass the city's iconic landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge, the Transamerica Building and the famous Victorian houses, and arrive at Justin Herman Plaza for its last stop.

The city is the torch's only stop on the continent as part of its worldwide relay, called the "Journey of Harmony".
