Wen Jiabao joined the discussion of deputies from Northwest China's Gansu province. Agriculture and environmental protection topped Wen's concerns on the region's development.

He urged the province to continue improving its agriculture, especially grain production.

Wen hopes Gansu, one of China's driest provinces, will be able to save more of its water resource and better protect the environment. Wen also encouraged the local government to continue improving people's livelihood, especially in education and health care.

In his meeting with political advisors from Hong Kong and Macao, Jia Qinglin said the two Special Administrative Regions have made considerable achievements since their return to the motherland.

Jia hoped advisors in the regions to continue implementing the "One Country, Two Systems" policy and making efforts for the long-term prosperity in both regions.

Li Changchun attended the deliberation of the Zhejiang delegation. Building a flourishing cultural industry topped the agenda.

Li said the wisdom of the people is the key to constructing a socialist cultural industry.

He said the country should respect knowledge and talent, to provide human resources so that culture may prosper.

Xi Jinping joined discussion with deputies from Inner Mongolia.

Xi Jinping called on them to highlight ecological protection, and promote social harmony.

Xi called on local officials to make energy efficiency and environmental protection the top priority while promoting economic development.

Li Keqiang spent time with the Liaoning delegation.

He hoped the province will further reform state-owned enterprises.

When joining with deputies from Central China's Hunan province, He Guoqiang says the local government should follow the central government's policies and guidelines and make the best use of its own resources and advantages.

Zhou Yongkang joined the discussion of the Heilongjiang delegation.

Zhou noted that maintaining social stability is fundamental to promoting reforms and opening-up. He said it's important to reduce social conflicts and solve those problems that concern the people the most.
