The picture is just the first step of its mission. The probe is expected to fulfill four scientific objectives. They include a three-dimensional survey of the Moon's surface, analysis of the abundance and distribution of elements on the Moon, an investigation of lunar regolith and its soil layer, and an exploration of the relationship between the Earth and the Moon.

To date, the probe has orbited the Moon more than 200 times, at a stable altitude of 200 kilometers maintaining a three-way positioning towards the Earth, the Moon and the Sun. LM, CCTV
