CPC Nat´l Congress catches US media attention

US academia and media, including New York Times and Washington Post, have focused on the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China for the past week. US scholars say the CPC Congress has caught their attention.
US scholar David Lampton said, "China is such a diverse country itself. The magnitude of the government's task in China is so large. But I think every experience elsewhere in the world has to be adjusted to the conditions in China. So I would be more worried if China was trying to copy exactly some other model. I'm personally reassured that the Chinese are trying to adapt other experience to their particular circumstances. I take that to be a good thing."
