Survivors from an attack on a Chinese oil company in Ethiopia have returned to their hometown in central Henan Province. The bodies of nine Chinese workers killed in the same attack also returned home.

The chartered Air China flight arrived in early Monday morning at Xinzheng International Airport, near the provincial capital Zhengzhou. Meanwhile, the Ethiopian government and the International Committee of the Red Cross have informed China that seven abducted Chinese workers have been freed. But this has not been confirmed by the Chinese embassy in Ethiopia.

Last Tuesday, more than 200 rebel gunmen staged attacks on the oil company. They killed 74 workers, nine of them Chinese and the rest Ethiopians. They also abducted many others, including the seven Chinese nationals.
