In Iraq, two car bombs in Baghdad have between them killed eighteen people, and wounding 55 more. In Baghdad's Sadr city, a car bomb killed seven people and wounding 23. The suicide car bomber struck late in the day on Tuesday close to a mosque inside Sadr city.

The blast went off outside the Shiite al-Rasoul Mosque in a mostly Shiite area that is also a stronghold of radical anti-US Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr. Another car bomb exploded in a parking lot in central Baghdad early morning on Wednesday, killing 11 people and wounding 32. The spokesman said the car exploded near a petrol station in the neighborhood of Bab Shargi.
