6th Minister quits Lebanese government

Lebanese Environment Minister Yaacoub Sarraf has resigned from his post, becoming the sixth minister to quit the cabinet since the unity talks collapsed.

Sarraf tendered his resignation hours before a cabinet meeting to endorse the UN draft text for a special court to try the killers of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. He said he can't belong to an authority that has lost its legitimacy. Earlier on Saturday, five Shiite ministers from Hezbollah and its ally, Amal, left the cabinet, including the Foreign Minister, the Health Minister and the Agriculture Minister.
