Quake victims rebuild houses

Close to the quake's epicenter, Xiamakou was a scene of devastation. After a year, the damage is hardly noticeable.

Chen Yanbin, Yanzi's brother, always smiles when showing off his new houses to visitors. He is the first to build a new house. He is the village chief, and had to set an example for his fellow villagers so that they can recover from the tragedy as soon as possible.

But he can never forget his own sorrow.

Chen Yanbin, Village head of Xiamaokou Village, said, "I was doing my job. It is not worth mentioning. but my little daughter can never see this. She was just twelve."
