Delegation leader Shingtsa Tenzinchodrak, a living Buddha, spoke highly of the achievements in Sino-Canadian ties by the House of Commons. He noted it's the first time NPC Tibetan deputies have visited Canada. He hopes it will help Canadians gain a truer picture of Tibet. He also gave a detailed introduction to the March 28th Serfs Emancipation Day.

The delegation also met with Assistant Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ken Sunquist. They answered questions on issues such as human rights and religious freedom in the autonomous region. The Canadian side confirmed it will always recognize the People's Republic of China as the only legal government of the country, and never support any separatist action.

The delegation later held debates with members of the House of Commons and Senate.
