Tibetologists visit UK, hold discussions with Chinese students abroad

A Chinese delegation of Tibetologists has begun an academic tour of the United Kingdom. The delegation held discussions with Chinese students in the UK on Sunday afternoon. The young people said the meeting helped them learn more about Tibet.

A Chinese delegation of Tibetologists has begun an academic  tour of the United Kingdom. The delegation held discussions  with Chinese students in the UK on Sunday afternoon.

More than 30 Chinese students were at the Chinese embassy to welcome the three Tibetologists. The scholars answered the students' questions on religion, culture, history, economy and other issues of the autonomous region.

The delegation said there was no religious freedom under the old Tibet's serfdom. Tibetan people had their political rights only after democratic reform in 1959. The Dalai Lama clique has been trying to cover the truth of their splittist plots. The so-called "Tibet Issue" reported by the western media only seeks to weaken China and split Tibet from the country.
