American-Iranian journalist Roxana Saberi has been released from an Iranian prison after an appeals court reduced her jail term of eight years to a two-year suspended term on Monday.

Roxana Saberi was in good spirits and may leave Iran next week after she was acquitted of charges of spying for the United States.

Roxana Saberi, US journalist, said, "I am of course very happy to be free and to be with my parents again and I want to thank all the people all over the world."

"I don't have any specific plans for the moment. I just want to be with my parents and my friends."

Her Iranian-born father Reza Saberi also spoke to reporters.
