Overseas Chinese mark earthquake anniversary

Many Chinese overseas have also held activities to commemorate one year since the devastating earthquake. In the United States, 150 college students from Sichuan province came together to mark the occasion.

Many Chinese overseas have also held activities to  commemorate one year since the devastating earthquake.

The group of students were invited by the New York State University to study there after the disaster. They will graduate this month, and say they will return to their hometowns to contribute to rebuilding efforts. Meanwhile, in Toronto, Canada, Chinese people there staged a performance to mark the day. Commemorative activities were also held in Russia, Brazil, Australia and Japan.
