YINGXIU, Sichuan Province, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao conveyed condolences to victims of the May 12 Sichuan earthquake and to those who sacrificed their lives during quake relief on the first anniversary of the earthquake Tuesday afternoon.

Hu, dressed in a dark suit, made the remarks while addressing a commemorative ceremony to mourn for the quake victims in the epicenter of last year's 8.0-magnitude earthquake that left more than 87,000 people dead or missing.
