The quake-devastated Beichuan county seat in Sichuan Province has reopened, to allow former residents to mourn the dead on the first anniversary of the disaster. This is the second time Beichuan has opened to the public since the earthquake. The first was during Qingming, or Tomb Sweeping Day, a traditional occasion for people to pay respect to the dead. The reopening of Beichuan means a lot for many former residents.
