The alert has gone out.

Yan Bingyue, Deputy Director of Sichuan Department of Public Health said "The Chinese Ministry of Health has confirmed that the suspected case of A/H1N1 is a confirmed case."

This is the first confirmed case on the Mainland. Sichuan authorities say the 30-year-old patient is at the Chengdu Infectious Disease Hospital. Those who have had close contact with him have been isolated for observation. Doctors say Mr.Bao is now recovering, but still being closely monitored.

Zhu Xiaoping, Senior Official of Sichuan Center for Disease Control said "The priority task at the moment is to trace all the passengers on board with Bao, quarantine all those people and give them preventative medicines."
