The quake cost more than 1 and a half million people their jobs. Re-employment is vital for them to restart their life. As our reporter Zhang Lu finds out, training and jobs are key to invigorating both the local economy and its people.

Wang Bo said, "After the quake, I lost my job and had  nothing to do for quite a long time. I tried many things  but all of them failed. But I saw hope when I took part  in the training program called "Start Your Business".  The program gave me know-how and courage. I started my  own business making windows last November."

Wang Bo is teaching one of his employees how to cut a window frame. He is now the boss of a small aluminum window factory.

Wang Bo lost his job after the quake. He says a training program has enabled him to start his own business.
