Fifty-eight-year-old Hu Changyun is well-known as Lao Hu, or old Hu, at the road construction site between Yingxiu and Wenchuan.

Lao Hu and his hometown crew from south Sichuan have been working here for three months.

Lao Hu's first job here was a concrete mixer operator, then a warehouse keeper. He's recognized as an all-around handyman, but it seems the reason he was chosen to speak on camera is that he's the best actor.

Sichuan Roadman Hu Changyun said, "To help them resume traffic, and not let them suffer the congestion, we came all the way from our hometown to this road just to do a little something for the quake victims."

Lao Hu is imitating the tone of his boss. but what he says is exactly what they are doing.
