After a journey of around 10 hours, six pandas from the Ya'an Bifengxia Giant Panda Breeding Base in Sichuan province have arrived at their new home at the Beijing Zoo.

The three females and three males were all born in 2007, and are around one-and-a-half years of age. Though it's their first time to travel such a long distance by air, zoo keepers say they are in very good condition.

The six animals were chosen from 13 pandas in Ya'an Breeding Center.

Zhang Jinguo, deputy director of Beijing Zoo, said, "These six pandas will live together in the Beijing zoo. So the first priority in our selection is that they get along with each other. In addition, they are also the best ones in terms of the color of the fur, looks, adaptability, and health condition."
