President Hu Jintao has ordered China to be on high alert to guard against swine flu. Departments ranging from Public Health to Agriculture are forging a united front to fight against the deadly virus which has killed over 150 in Mexico and is spreading around the world.

The Health Ministry ordered a round-the-clock working plan  at all medical departments for early detection of any  suspected cases of the swine flu.

It's also called for tighter supervision at kindergartens, schools, colleges and nursing homes, focusing on the children and the elderly.
