At a memorial day ceremony for the six million Jews killed by the Nazis in World War Two, Netanyahu said it's the supreme duty of Israel and his duty as prime minister to ensure it never happens again.

On Tuesday, air-raid sirens will sound across Israel for a minute of silence and an official wreath-laying ceremony will be held at Yad Vashem. But, this year, the event is overshadowed by a UN anti-racism conference in Geneva which Israel views as anti-Semitic.

Netanyahu criticized Switzerland's president for meeting Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has cast doubt on the Nazi Holocaust.
