Delegates at the Boao Forum from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan took the chance to discuss the economic crisis and how to improve financial cooperation.

They put forward proposals to fight the slowdown, saying they believe there is more room for cooperation across the Strait in financial administration, currency management and related institutions.

One delegate suggested that both sides should sign a currency exchange accord to stabilize trade deals. The financial crisis has severely damaged Taiwan's economy.

One delegate from Taiwan said it's good for people from both sides to meet face to face, to talk about how to further boost cooperation.
